1988 was the year we moved from a one bedroom apartment in Portland, out to the country of Ridgefield Washington. What a shocker!! We didn't even own a shovel or garbage can.

Another shocker was moving right across the street from a family owed dairy farm named Misti Meadow Farm's. It took a long time to appreciate the smell that comes from dairy cows and the occasional escaping herd into our yard with a parting gift of cow pies. Like most family dairy farms in Clark County, the owners finally closed their doors and moved out. Thankfully they left behind their sign and thus began the idea for Misty Meadows Farm. I asked the dairy farm owners how they came up with that name? "In the Fall and Winter months , the meadow always has a misty look over it, so that's how we came up with the name"  I'd like to think that we at Misty Meadows Farm are continuing a Clark County tradition of farming even though we do not own cows.
